In 2018 PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 held a very successful Book Drive in aid of, amongst another, ACVV Huis Genot – Home for older persons in Algoa Park. We received an overwhelming amount of books for young and old from all over the Nelson Mandela Bay area. Not only were we able to stock the library at ACVV Huis Genot, we were also able to donate to the charity shop of Cheshire Homes on November 20th. They in return raise much-needed funds by selling these books, to enable them to focus on the care of people with disabilities who come from very poor homes and communities.
Deliveries continued on November 23rdwhen we also gave the gift of reading to the elderly at Cuylerholmes in Central and Buffelsfontein Retirement Village in Overbaakens. Together with the community’s help we really made a huge difference. Thank you to each and everyone for supporting our PE Pearls LC19 Book Drive for 2018.
We are still in the process of establishing the Library/Recourse Centre for SOS Children’s Village PE and look forward to revealing all in the near future. We’ll keep you posted.
