Auricular Acupuncture Social

Needles appear to be a theme for the ladies of PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19. If it isn’t saving lives by donating blood at SANBS it’s trying out new and exciting relaxation therapies by having needles placed in our ears for fun and relaxation!

On Wednesday 24th March 2021, as part of our efforts to try new things, the 3 of us met at Hair or Knot salon in Newton Park for coffee and an Auricular Acupuncture session, hosted by Ash Lee.

Ash Lee is currently completing her practical hours in order to qualify as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.  PE Pearls LC19 was more than happy to try this procedure out in support of her goals.

After explaining a bit about what Auricular Acupuncture is and how it originated, Ash detailed what she would be doing and what we could expect from the experience.  She helped us focus on our breathing while inserting the needles into our ears, whereafter we sat for 45 minutes in meditation.

Auricular Acupuncture is a simple and effective holistic health treatment with a range of healing benefits.

We felt comfortable and it was not painful. It was an enjoyable experience being relaxed, in different state of mind and just breathing and focusing on one’s self. It provides a safe zone even if only for a little while. And that’s why we would love to do it again.

Thank you Ash for a memorable evening, we wish you luck in your future endeavours.
