BEACH CLEANUP

PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 held a beach clean-up at Blue Horizon Bay on Sunday 8th November 2020, with the idea of getting participants to donate a packet or tin of pet food as an “entry fee” to join.  We handed out a free Spar Women’s Race T-shirt, donated to us by Spar, to the participants.

The reason we chose to travel so far to do this clean-up is due to the fact that Blue Horizon Bay Beach, although beautiful and generally pretty quiet, seems to be littered with quite a bit of plastic, straws, sucker sticks, cigarette butts, bottles, and we always find fishing lures and, for some reason, mattress foam on our walks along the shore.

It is a concern that such a well-established conservation area is still becoming so “dirty” we implore you, please pick up your litter, it costs nothing to keep our country, our beaches and our seas clean!

We would like to thank everyone who attended.  We hope you like your free t-shirt.
