Blood, sweat and … cake!

PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 was back at the blood bank on Wednesday 23 September for our monthly blood donation ~ because blood saves lives! Please contact your nearest SANBS to see how you can make a difference, one drop at a time.

On a social note, PE Pearls LC19 has decided that we want to go on more adventures, exit our comfort zones and try new things!

Adventure No. 1 (23 September 2020) started on a HIGH note, with some indoor rock climbing fun at Valley Crag Indoor Climbing Center, and what an epic idea it was, talk about pushing yourself to the LIMITS!

Our instructor, Caitlin Gouws, took us to new HEIGHTS! Taking us through the course, talking us through the do’s and don’ts of climbing and showed us how it is meant to be done. Caitlin made it look so easy… and then we tried it! Some of us fared better than others, but all in all, although a bit strenuous, it was surprisingly fun, especially when trying to better yourself, pushing yourself a little bit further each time. We will definitely be doing this again!

After an exhausting, but absolutely exhilarating evening, we took a slow walk back to the car and took a detour past McDonald’s on our way home, for some coffee and cake! We spent about an hour chatting about life, ladies circle and ideas for our next adventurous escapade before we all made our way home. This was a great end to an awesome first adventure.
