Our handbag project ran for the second time and was well supported.  We managed to collect 62 handbags and a large variety of products with the help of “Galz Up” a bookclub group.  A handbag can make the weakest woman feel alive and strong, so these small gestures may just be what some lady out there needs.

We donated the handbags to Masimanyane Women’s Support Group and they will be distributing them to ladies who come through them.  When they start their rehabilitation phase and enter the working world, the handbag gives them a sense of “I am worthy” and many of these women loose that sense through the traumatic ordeals they go through.

We look forward to running this project again in 2020, allowing ladies to build up their handbag collection again.
