ELLC23 held a family fun day at 3 Silos as our LCI Day project.

 

What did we do?

ELLC 23 & GasMart Nahoon hosted our very first Heroes: Fun Walk/Run/Cycle at 3 Silos. Months of planning and getting sponsors for the day, made the day a big success.

The event consisted of an 18km MTB Trail, 5km cycle, 5km fun walk/run, 2km cycle (for kids) and 100m dash for small kids on their push bikes. Participants dressed up as their “Hero” and we had a total of  79 people took part in the races.

Thanks to all our sponsors we had lots of prizes to give away such as 1^st lady / man to complete each race as well as various spot prizes.

Who will we help?              

Our beneficiary for the day was TAG RUGBY®.

The Street Tag programme has been running in East London since July 2013 and is run by our TAG Rugby® Associate Affiliate Streetwise games.  The focus of the programme is to get children whom don’t have adult supervision in Mdantsane playing Tag Rugby® instead of being on the streets every afternoon.

We managed to raise around R 4 800.00 for TAG Rugby® which will be used for coaching of the kids.
