Ladies Circle is a vibrant and dynamic service organization for young women between 18 years to 45 years who would like to make a difference in the community, raise funds and meet new friends.
Ladies Circle creates a platform for ladies to meet like-minded woman from all walks of life, cultivating lifelong friendships and allowing us to be ourselves whilst serving the community at the same time. We travel nationally and internationally, broadening and enriching our lives in so many ways.
A lot of emphasis is placed on community work within our local communities and this includes helping a broad spectrum of people, from babies to the aged. We raise money from our communities for our communities and utilize funds raised to support and be of service to those less fortunate.
We operate with a code that defines the role of Ladies Circle, and by which all our members abide to, as summarized by our motto: “Friendship and Service”.
Ladies Circle has its roots in England, where the wives of Round Table members founded the very first Circle in Bournemouth in 1930. Today, Ladies Circle International has approximately 12,500 members in 41 countries.
South Africa chartered in 1992 and since then, opened many Circles around the country with 11 currently operational. Our clubs are LC4 Louis Trichardt, LC6 Edenvale, LC7 Northridge, LC8 Shiraz, LC19 PE Pearls, LC20 Garden Route, LC22 Swellendam, LC23 East London, LC24 Sandton, LC25 Benoni and LC26 Witbank. We also have 1 club in formation in Newcastle that will be chartered on 11 – 13 November 2022.
Each Circle has their own projects and charities that they support and collectively, all Circles within South Africa are encouraged to support the National Service Project – “Light a Sparke”.
Ladies Circle creates a platform that, in addition to making a difference in your community, teaches you so many skills one often doesn’t think is taught in a Friendship and Service Organization. How to run a meeting, how to write minutes of meetings, finances, speeches, conduct and decorum within an organisation. All this brings out your confidence and with a voice that you didn’t realise you had. There are so many attributes that you learn that the list is endless.
If you have been thinking about joining a group of dynamic women, then do it today.
You will not regret your decision.
