PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 got together via Zoom with LC4 Ladies Circle India on the 18 December 2021 for their “Ugly Sweater Party.”

The story behind the Ugly Sweater all started in the 1950’s, when they were first known as “Jingle Bell Sweaters”, and featured discrete Christmas themed decorations.  The original ugly Christmas sweaters were never intended to be “ugly” but were actually pretty artistic and joyful.

This online event was indeed a very festive and interesting get together, it was so great to meet the ladies from India, and boy did we have some good laughs.  You should have seen the flashy outfits with their tinsel, reindeer glasses, Santa hats, amongst others; the ladies all looked great.

We started off by introducing ourselves , and then the games began!

Each person got to tell a short story about what Christmas means to them and if they had any special memories that they wanted to share between Circles.

The game that followed had the first person doing an action of choice and saying out their Best Christmas Character’s name, the next person then had to repeat the line and add on their own; oh my, what a laugh we all had, seeing how difficult it got when the last few people had to remember everything.

We then played a Truth Game, where we had to mention 3 things that we did previously in our childhood or growing up over Christmas time and everyone needed to guess which of the 3 options were in fact the truth.

It was then time for a game of Bingo using Christmas related words.  It was so close in the end however our Circler, Tanya Ferreira, walked away with this prize.  Well done Tanya!

We ended the evening off with a vote for ‘Ugliest Sweater’ and this was awarded to our Circler, Chantalle Le Roux.  Well done Chantalle on being such a sport!
