LCI DAY ~ 2022

PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 celebrated Ladies Circle International Day on 11 February 2022 in the true spirit of Friendship and Service, handing out food, disposable masks and clothing.

We met after work at Londt Park Sports Club and prepared buttered rolls with polony, using hamburger rolls donated by Tanya’s mom, Elna.  We also made up 7 hampers with bags and various items (hats, rulers, toys, water bottles) sponsored by Sonel, as well as colouring books, crayons and apples that we had purchased and t-shirts from a collection of kids clothing donated to us.

We started our journey off in Westering where we donated Lynne Swann’s monthly supply of nappies.  We then made our way down Cape Road handing out rolls, disposable masks and clothing (donated to us from friends and family) to the homeless people.

This is becoming a regular project for us and we are absolutely loving the impact it has on people; the gratitude and joy on their faces, knowing that we are (in our own small way) able to make a difference in these people’s lives.

We didn’t see many children while driving around so we will hang onto the kids hampers for the next time.
