The 11th of February 2020 was Ladies Circle International Day and what an amazing way to celebrate, by giving back!  Friendship and Service at its best.

Service: The ladies from PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 visited the children of Protea Place of Safety and spent some time with them and handed out sweets and juice, bringing much joy to their little faces.  The children eagerly helped us carry cleaning products and soups, condiments and spices donated to us by Deli Spice in Port Elizabeth, which we in turn donated to the centre.

But wait, there’s more… PE Pearls LC19 also donated much needed cleaning products to the Association for Persons with Disabilities, and some more Deli Spice products to Algoa Bay Council for the Aged in Buffelsfontein Road, and CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation to help assist the families during the tough times while the children are being treated.  Thank you to Deli Spice, our sponsors, and the community for your support in making this all possible.

Friendship: After a busy charity filled day, we moved onto The Bru Bar for our monthly business meeting and some much needed food, friendship and friendly banter.  A lot of laughs were had by all.

The events of this Friendship and Service day, lead to PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 being awarded the National Ladies Circle International Day Trophy at the Ladies Circle South Africa’s AGM held via Zoom on 23rd May 2020.
