86th National Council Meeting Weekend

O what FUN it is to be able to get in a car together with Fellow Circlers and head to a destination out of town! On Friday morning, we were up early to hit the road from Port Elizabeth. Our dearest LCSA President, Michelle Jacobsz were focused on the job at hand to safely get her passengers, LCSA Vice-President – Riana Otto, Garden Route LC20 Chairlady – Bets Theron and myself, Sonel Lindeque – LCSA Past President & PE Pearls LC19 Chairlady, to East London. On the way we made two pit stops. Nanaga Farm Stall for the best Homemade Pies & Port Alfred for another Traveling Scarf photo opportunity. We soon arrived in EL and went to do some window-shopping. That evening Circlers and their partners from all over SA come together to catch up and have a great laugh.

On the chilly Winter Saturday Morning we all appreciated the cappuccinos before the meeting. Madam President, Michelle Jacobsz, ran a successful and productive first National Council Meeting for the 2017/18 year. Congratulations Michelle! Our hosts, East London LC23, took great care of us, feeding us throughout the day and made sure we didn’t step out of line by having the sergeant fine us dutifully – all in great team spirit.

After a relaxing afternoon watching Rugby and solving all the worldly problems, we were all off to the Round Table East London No. 1’s Club House. There the Tablers ran the bar for us as we celebrated East London Ladies Circle No. 23’s 4th Birthday. The ladies went all out with decorations, snacks, treats and a yummy Cake!! It was really great to have so many of the founder members of the Circle as well as the Charter attendees and others, celebrate together. On behalf of the Godmother Circle, PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19, I would like to wish ELLC23 once again only the best of Circle adventures. We know that the EL Community will only prosper having a Circle like yours in town. Here’s to many more years of FRIENDSHIP & SERVICE!  Thank you to each and everyone for a wonderful weekend.
