Garden Route LC 20 (GRLC20) and Round Table George 30 (RT30) joined hands to organize a successful Golf Day on Thursday 20 September 2018.
Many avid golfers enjoyed a fun day of golfing at the beautiful George Golf Club to raise funds in aid of various new and ongoing projects in George. Each organisation received almost R16 000 each to apply to their identified areas of need. GRLC allocated funding to Ruby Haves Safe House, George Fires, Santa Shoe Box for the Aged, People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) George and various other smaller projects.
We were overwhelmed by the donations we received not only for our auction but also the 4-ball team prices. On that note we would like to thank the following sponsors: Andrew Cronje, Birds of Eden, BMW, BUCO, Ciro Coffee, City Paint and Tool, Daniel Van Schalkwyk, Decore Hardware, Franks Flooring, Gannet Restaurant, GR Tyres, Jukani, Lombard Tyres, MJ Accounting Services, Monkeyland, Perfect Nails and Beauty, Pick n Pay, ProGranite, Steph Nel, Stewcon, Theron’s Garage Doors, Third Generation, Turnberry B&B and many more.
The overall winners of the Golf Day were: 3rd with 104 Points (Deon, Johan, Marius and Mickey), 2nd with 106 Points (Ryno, Jacques, Riaan and Abrie) and 1st with 107 Points (Gina, Stephan, Louis and Johan. The Longest Drive prize went to Ryno Coetzee (Male) and Wilma Smith (Female). The Nearest to the Pin (6th and 13th Hole) prize went to Riaan Heunis and Claude De Wet. We also had a couple of raffle prize winners, with the main item, the tailor made RBZ Driver, going to Riaan Kirsten.
We are looking forward in seeing everyone again at the next Golf Day mid September 2019.
