Teddies by the masses

Imagine our surprise when Courier IT arrived on our doorstep with a FULL load of teddies… yes, bags and bags full of stuffed toys, nearly 800 teddies to be more specific, filled the office porch.

These teddies were collected by Cambridge Academy, Witbank and handed over to Ladies Circle Witbank in Formation, who in turn donated them to PE Pearls Ladies Circle No. 19 in aid of our Teddy Bear projects.

PE Pearls LC19 have 2 teddy projects running at present, one for Cleft Friends (a project of Smile Foundation) as well as a Teddy Bear Clinic.  We will sift through all of the stuffed toys that were received and select the most suitable for these respective projects.

Some of these fuzzy friends will have a cleft “scar” sown onto them and donated to Cleft Friends to be given to all the little children that undergo procedures for cleft lip and/or palates, so that they can be comforted by the idea that their teddies have the same scar as theirs.

Those teddies not suitable for cleft scars will be utilized for our Teddy Bear Clinic, whereby we will give these teddies the TLC that they need.  They will be cleaned and fixed, if need be, to make them look like new, and then donated to under-privileged children to make their little hearts happy.

PE Pearls LC19 would like to thank Annelie Venter and Courier IT for the delivery, Cambridge Academy for the massive collection of teddies, Amy Gallagher and Ladies Circle Witbank in Formation for organising the courier and for donating these teddies to our cause.  We really appreciate all the support.
